Halva
One of the oldest desserts in Greece
Halva is a typical Greek dessert that literally melts in your mouth. Basically it can be found in 4 different variations that determine its flavor: peanuts, almonds, pistachios and chocolate, but it can be found made with pine nuts, walnuts and other ingredients.
The only certain thing is that it is very sweet: 50% is made up of sugar or sugar juice and Marco doesn't love it at all, Dario has tasted it every now and then.
This dessert has very ancient origins, we are talking about 3000 years ago, and of course it has Arab origins. Halva, in fact, means sweet dish.
Currently in Greece it is considered one of the main Lenten desserts: in particular the tahini-based dessert.
