A very important religious holiday for the Greeks

August 15th is dedicated to celebrations in honor of the Virgin Mary, in fact the Maries celebrate their name day on this day. The celebrations on the 15th attract thousands of pilgrims. The most beautiful celebrations can be found on:

We were lucky enough to see the celebrations of the 15th both in Kos a Zia and on Skopelos with the procession in Skopelos Town and I must say that we liked them a lot.
